Growing up with her great grandmother teaching her how to bead traditional seed bead designs, local Arizonian, Karen Johnson, of Ojibwa Native American heritage, beads exquisite hatbands for Watson’s Hat Shop. Her technique is a quality that is often rare including vintage seed bead colors that are of limited quantity. Paying close attention to detail, it can take Karen up to 2 eight hour days to bead just one hatband!
Custom designs are limitless. Prices can vary depending on larger than standard hatband widths. Standard hatband widths are considered 1-1.5 inches. What you see below are examples of what we carry in-stock at the hat shop. Karen is always surprising us with new innovative creations on a monthly basis. If you would like to place a custom order, be ready to send us an image – if applicable, for Karen to duplicate or create and we will follow up with a price quote. We are also willing to share pictures via email of new and updated styles not pictured on our website. Just ask today!
